Change Log:

This hack fixes the reported issue of unstable HSPA+ speeds/signal and iPad users having trouble updating and losing all signal. This hack enables, along with the previous enabled features, HD Voice for all iPhone models running on AT&T so users can now use the UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+ network for HD qaulity calling on their 4S and 5. This hack also enables Release 7 HSDPA speeds for the iPhone 4S, giving it a new maximum theoretical downlink of 21Mbps, which AT&T does indeed support. Signal improvements from the previous release have not changed and are still present in this release along with unthrottled LTE and HSPA+. The previous band preferences have been altered this time around but not to prefer bands. It has been reprogrammed to do the following:

- "Optimize WCDMA" which will deliver the fastest available speeds without hindering the towers and other users on it.

- "Set LTE near threshold" which will also deliver the fastest available speeds that the LTE towers support.

Disclaimer:

This hack does NOT guarantee that you will see any dramatic changes or any change at all as certain areas are simply limited because of population density, natural features that degrade signal, the traffic on a specific tower, and even the amount of spectrum the tower is limited to as not all LTE towers have been upgraded to 10MHz on the downlink for higher bandwidth support. If you feel this hack has not helped you, we have provided a way back to defaults, if you choose to do so. AT&T is also currently in the process of enabling AMR-WB (AMR 13) which is the codec that enables HD Voice so you may not recieve HD Voice in every area but is set for public release sometime this year. If you are in an area that does not support HD Voice (AMR-WB) then your iPhone will auto default back to the standard CS AMR 5 codec which is voice over 2G.

Hello, all dropbox links are dead and your repo is empty. I'm trying to get the hack for my jailbroken 6.1 factory unlocked 4S on T-Mobile. Is it even worth it for my device? Thanks.

well you dont necisarily need to do a full restore to reert back you could use ibackupbot and go to system files MobileDomain/Library/Carrier bundles/iPhone
on your old backup and right click it and click restore to device

James your problem is that 4g and edge is way to different networks. 4g is way faster then edge. Your speed issues isn't because of the hack its because your on edge and not 4g. I would retry this and make sure your connection is on 4g or LTE depending on what iPhone you own. I assure you your results will be different. But there's a newer hack out go to the up to date file.

James Trages says...
I installed this Carrier Hack/Update and didn't notice much in the difference of speed no matter where I was/how strong my signal. I did notice that instead of saying "4G" on my iPhone it now says "E" so I'm not sure if it's actually on the faster Cellular Network speeds due to this Carrier Hack/Update. At times, it actually seems to be a bit slower/get more packet loss, but I haven't tested it thoroughly enough to come to that conclusion for sure yet... I'll keep you posted...

This version is now out of date and we have a newer one available, if you would like to try that.

I performed this today and was able to double my low-reception download from .9mbps to over 2mbps. I also am able to send/receive texts slightly better in low reception areas than before the hack. THANK YOU SO MUCH. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

I do not know how to change the bar of the file when loaded on my iPhone. I can rename to a .zip on my pc and then I have to find the carrier bundle and send to my Dropbox to then load onto the phone. Finally I can copy the new bundle over the old one while in ifile. This is how I updated in V2. I was hoping you could also just post the carrier bundle folder so I wouldn't have to unpack it- could then do it without a PC. In fact I can't seem to get the file to download as a "save as" directly onto my phone so I can change the name. My phone is jailbroken - forgive me if I'm being a dweeb and would appreciate an easier way without a PC. - thanks!

it would of made it easier if you was jail broken since your not jailbroken the only way to fix this is to restore iphone as new not from a backup. for some reason sometimes the 14.6 wont over ride the 14.1 carrier hack so the only way to clean the carrier setting back to default is to restore as new. soon as you get it restored to new go and apply the 14.6 carrier hack and it will work.

Whenever I select the ATT_US_14.6_iPhone.ipcc file, I get the 0xE8000004 error in iTunes. This worked the first time I applied the original 14.1 file, but now it will not take the 14.6 file.

Cannot get this to work. The first one worked fine, but updates don't work. I'm on an iPhone 5, iOS 6.1.4, AT&T.
