Verizon XLTE Carrier Update Hack

Posted by joe012594 on June 7, 2014 at 7:10 PM
In this carrier update hack we bring some slight modifications and new icons for Verizon's new XLTE network, which hits speeds of up to 150Mbps download and 50Mbps upload, though the iPhone 5, 5C, and 5S are all limited to a max of 100Mbps on XLTE. They can still take advantage of the faster speeds, however, compared to Verizon's previous LTE which allowed a max of 75Mbps download and 37.5Mbps upload. In addition to the new icons, this update brings new potential roaming capabilities and VoLTE capabilities. Keep in mind that these capabilities are just a beta test though and will not affect your services if it doesn't yet work. A detailed list of the features in this update are listed below.

NOTE: You must have XLTE (15+15MHz or 20+20MHz) available in your area for XLTE to work on your device.

Features

-Free HotSpot and Tethering

-Boosted signal reception (greatly depends on area, coverage, and land features)

-Boosted Data Speeds

-Optimized QoS for overall data usage

-Quicker LTE connection/reconnection time over 2G 1xRTT and 3G EvDO

-Prioritization of LTE  for weaker coverage areas

-Ability to Edit APN settings

-Ability to manually choose a carrier in the carrier selection menu

-XLTE data indicator for Verizon LTE capable iPhones to represent their new XLTE network

-IMS and VoLTE capabilities enabled

-More potential roaming capabilities over CDMA and GSM networks

IPhone 5s 7.1.1 just went true all steps. In settings it shows 16.5. From cydia installed Verizon XLTE icon. Now on status bar it shows me 4G only, instead LTE or XLTE. Is it normal? Does this hack works with 7.1.1?
Thanks.

Is there a way to set preference/priority for Band 4 over Band 13 in LTE scanning and registering?I find that it camps on Band 13 first and then after some idle it goes to band 4.

I have a Verizon 5C with 7.1.1. I installed as instructed and everything seems to have gone as it was suppose to but my data is still at 35mb max. I know this area has XLTE because my friends S5 hits over 80mb at my house and my old Razr M hit 65mb. I have XLTE showing but no speed increase. Also settings looks messed up.
